With this grant, food banks improved and expanded their organizational capacity to increase the amount of perishable and non-perishable items they were able to accept in order to better meet the needs of the community.

Supported larger food bank hubs by providing them with the means to improve their ability to acquire and share food more efficiently across their region.

Has helped to build province-wide effectiveness and improve the operational capacity of provincial associations over the year in the areas of Member Services and Provincial Government Advocacy.

Assisted food banks to deliver education and skills-building programming to the children that access food bank services—or are at risk of experiencing food insecurity.

Grants and resources that enabled food banks to deliver beneficial cooking and nutritional programming to food bank recipients.

Nurtured local garden and growing programs that support the growth and increased consumption of fresh food amongst participants—helping to build valuable gardening skills and a sense of community in the process.
