In 2004, a Farm Credit Canada employee decided to use his vacation time and his tractor and trailer to help his community. He hopped into his tractor, and with help from local farmers and others in the area, collected food for the local food bank. This single act of kindness has since grown into one of the largest food drives across Canada – FCC Drive Away Hunger. Since its inception, FCC Drive Away Hunger has raised over 65 million meals! 

In these times of uncertainty, FCC Drive Away Hunger will look a little different. In compliance with Public Health requirements of physical distancing, there won’t be tractor tours this year. From now until October 16th, 2020, FCC employees, volunteers and partners from communities across Canada will be collecting food and funds, with 100% of the proceeds going to Canadian food banks. Drive Away Hunger stretches far and wide to feed people who are food insecure and raise awareness of hunger in Canada especially in these difficult times. 

Today, 16 years later, FCC Drive Away Hunger is helping meet the needs of food banks across Canada. Every volunteer and every meal has made a difference. And you can make a difference too during these unprecedented times.
